Comment créer un badge d'application

Les badges permettent de transmettre des informations non urgentes à l'utilisateur. Par exemple, ils sont utilisés pour indiquer l'état d'une application ou le nombre d'éléments non lus. La méthode classique pour créer un badge d'application consiste à ajouter un numéro à la favicon. Sur les navigateurs modernes, une fois l'application installée, il existe un moyen intégré d'ajouter un badge à l'icône d'application dans la barre des tâches du système d'exploitation.

La méthode moderne

Utiliser la méthode navigator.setAppBadge()

La méthode navigator.setAppBadge() définit un badge sur l'icône associée à l'application installée. Elle accepte un argument unique facultatif, qui est un entier utilisé comme valeur du badge. Définir le numéro sur 0 efface le badge de l'application. Si aucun argument n'est fourni, un badge générique s'affiche, généralement sous la forme d'un point coloré.

La méthode classique

Ajouter un numéro à la favicon

Si l'application n'est pas encore installée, vous pouvez ajouter un numéro à la favicon. Il existe de nombreuses façons de procéder. Par exemple, vous pouvez dessiner la favicon de manière dynamique sur un canevas en ajoutant les informations du badge et en l'affichant sous forme d'URL Blob, ou créer une image SVG avec les informations du badge sous forme d'URL de données.

Amélioration progressive

L'extrait de code ci-dessous utilise un élément personnalisé <favicon-badge></favicon-badge> qui permet au développeur de définir de manière déclarative un badge sur la favicon spécifiée via l'attribut src en transmettant un entier à l'attribut badge. Lorsque l'utilisateur installe l'application, le badge est "mis à niveau" vers un badge de système d'exploitation natif.
